Which one is best for me?
Looking to buy a camcorder after just trying to take an HD video with my Kodak Camera. The video is very choppy. I was recording my sons first try at eating baby cereal.
Anyway after this bad experience I really need to get a camcorder so I don’t miss any more special moments!!! What is the best HD camcorder for my use. I am just a mom trying to do some basic recording. Some low light situations outdoors/ indoors. I want something nice without going overboard with options a basic user will never even use. What do you recommend and why? Any draw backs?

Panasonic HDC-TM700K Hi-Def Camcorder with Pro Control System
I bought the TM700 a month ago thanks to its ability to shoot 1080p60 video. I actually have been terribly proud of the results. The video quality is great, and doing straightforward trim and splice edits of the 25Mbs H.264 files are no downside on my Gateway SX2800-01 (Core two Quad processor Q8200). I actually have owned many camcorders within the past, each SD and HD, and this produces the very best quality video I’ve ever shot. sixty progressive frames per second produces terribly sleek motion, that i feel makes handheld footage terribly simple on the eyes. once I use this unit with a highly fluid tripod head the results are astounding.
The low-light performance is kind of sensible, however I’ve seen footage from costlier cameras that may out-do the TM700 in that regard.
The auto white balance typically acts contrary to my needs — typically there is latency in adjusting the white balance throughout a fast amendment in lighting conditions (say, walking indoors from outdoors). The unit will eventually cool down to a decent white-balance.
The fan noise problems I examine here involved me before my purchase. However, at area temperature and a foot removed from my ear, the fan on the TM700 I received doesn’t build any sound I will discern. (I’m in my mid-forties and also the frequency response in each my ears drops sharply at fourteen khz). once I amplify the sound recorded in a very quiet area at area temperature I don’t hear the fan. I recorded outdoors on a ninety four degree F day and that i suppose I hear the fan briefly on a brief phase from that session. i’d not initiate warranty service based mostly on my fan expertise thus far.
