Which DVDs are best to use in my DVD Camcorder?
I am awaiting delivery of a DVD Camcorder and was wanting to buy some blank DVDs so that I can have a go at recording as soon as I get it. The item description says that I can use DVD-R (8cm), DVD-RW (8 cm), DVD-R DL (8 cm). I know that DVD-R and and DVD+R are different formats and that RW are just the same as R but re-writable however I’ve never heard of DVD-R DL.
Does anyone have any advice on which is best? The only things that really matter are that they compatible with as many DVD players as possible (I’ll be taking them with me when I visit family so I can bore them to death!) and picture quality as I have a decent full HD telly which may show up deficiencies in the images.
If it makes any difference the camera is a Canon HR10 Ultra Compact HD DVD Camcorder (Model no. 2076B006AA).

DVD-r and DVD+r are the same. But if your manual doesn’t mention DVD+r then don’t get them, DVDrw are rewritables and DVD-r dl are dual layer.
