The Sony DCR-SR45 is a lightweight camera weighing 350g (without battery). Its dimensions are 76mm wide, 77mm high and 113 mm deep). Our unit review was silver in the usual spot and black design. The camcorder has a 2.7-inch wide touch screen and a 40x optical zoom. Zoom enabled microphone captures the sound clearly. Lots of storage space is provided by its 30 GB of storage space. This results in 7 to 20 hours of recording depending on quality settings. You can also store photos and videos to a memory slot thanks to stick a "hybrid" offering secondary recording option with a Memory Stick slot that can increase capacity to 16GB.
The four buttons zoom in, zoom out, the house, start / stop recording are versatile when recording at low angles. It has 2 menu systems, a menu "Home" for all settings and a menu function Options for the available functions for video and still images, as the recording mode, focus and white balance. The dead record button allows you to easily launch center and the dial is adjusted according to the thumb. Power and Activity buttons are above this. It also has a "quick button, which moves from the standby mode. The "silence" button is on top. And the rocker button to the zoom lens that allows shutter open close-ups.

All functions are up to standard.
It has an autofocus response and good white balance.
A clean look with sliding door on the side, where you can find a USB port, AV output cable included. Another sliding door skins in the top slot memory card.

Compared with SR65, which has a higher optical zoom.
Bad
The video quality is disappointing. It is unpleasant if you're used to the clarity of high definition video. It looks good, even at the highest quality setting until it is reduced size scale of YouTube.

You can capture images without shaking and close-ups, the tripod is always necessary, since it lacks optical image stabilization.

The DCR-SR45 is not better than other entry-level cameras. The image quality is reasonable, but not enough for most people. It's affordable, but there are even cheaper models with better returns. The total package is except the standard video quality. It is suitable for beginners and budget shoppers interested in MiniDV.
