What is the best camera for the family to buy at a low cost?
I'm not very good in the choice of these gadgets. So please recommend a video camera that you think is good.
If your only will use the camera to photograph the events, especially family, etc., why not go with a camcorder that records directly to DVD? After finished recording, the camera prompts you to "finalize" (meaning it is ready to encode and play on your DVD player). Or, there is mini DV tape format that uses miniDV tapes. You will need a FireWire cable to ingest your recordings on your computer, then edit the footage, along with software edition (maybe Windows Movie Maker). Of course, the second option is slightly more complicated (especially if you're starting). The good news is that miniDV has existed for years and prices for consumer cameras have come down. You can not go wrong with the name of the top brands like Canon, Sony, Panasonic, JVC, etc. Some brands go for about $ 200 (sometimes less!). Camcorders that record to DVD is fairly recent, but prices are falling on them too. Check out: www.bandhphoto.com to online shop window for camcorders for consumers. Oh, and add to the confusion, there are cameras that record to DVD, miniDV tapes nor, but record directly to an internal hard drive.
