What is the best starter in the professional video camera?
My boyfriend is looking to buy a professional camcorder to record live bands playing at concerts, and none of us know much about of them. He has been thinking about this "Canon DM-XM1 XM1E 3CCD MINI DV SEMI-PRO" on eBay, but I wonder if anyone can suggest camera are a good start 'to he? Xxx
I would be very careful with an old camcorder - The XM1 is a great video camera - not get me wrong - but dates back to 2003. Please consider the Canon GL2. It is good to use miniDV tape camcorders. Captan least compressed video (DV format). They have no vibration problems Camcorders Hard disk have - this may be a registration problem live bands that are strong due to vibration of the high-end audio. List of things you should look for - and why: 1) We talked a little MiniDV tape. Good choice. 2) Objectives larger than 60 mm in diameter. This allows more light in the image sensor and usually results better quality in low-light video / recording. 3) Audio Input (s). "Prosumer" cameras typically have a 1 / 8 "(3.5mm) stereo jack. Pro-cams degree of use of XLR connectors. If the camera has 1 / 8 "audio and want to use XLR mics, getting XLR adapter juicedLink or BeachTek. 4) Manual audio control. The battery of securities included in the box with the video camera usually has a life of 20-30 minutes, which is too short for a concert.
