Could anyone recommend a good Hard Drive Camcorder High Definition in the range of $ 800?

I read the comments of Sony, JVC and Canon in this price range, and many people are commenting on a new video format you are using is not compatible with a lot of software edition. I like to be able to edit video with ease, so I'm not sure that the work of the best for me. Thanks for your help!
