I bought it for my son listening audio-books. It has 10 book-marks. That really help for multiple person’s books. It is easy to use. It is a great product. The editing tool on PC is a little bit confusing, but manageable. I hope the wall charger is a standard accessory, since a lot of people take the player traveling, without computer.

Doesn’t live up to how Creative says it will.

The Creative Centrale software to manage your transfer music and create playlists is terrible. I would recommend using the PC to move the music and create playlists. The keyboard function is lame. Each key has 7 options like number 1 has a,b,c,A,B,C,1 so you have a lot of keying to create a file name. The wireless lan access to say Yahoo messenger doesn’t work at all. It will connect to the lan, but you will never connect to Yahoo messenger because the device has no browser. I was so frustrated using the Creative Centrale software that I called technical support in ASIA long distance, their own people who work for Creative and bought this same player said it was lame at best. The player does have a good sound thru the headphones and battery life is not bad. The rest is Hype at best. Should retail for no more that $60.

X-Fi and X-Fi2

I purchased the X-FI2 when I thought my Creative Zen Vision:M was dying. Fortunately, it didn’t. It is still the best. Everytime I think about the X-FIs, I get so mad I could spit. How can you improve on perfection? You can’t and this is the classic example of how something good can be redesigned poorly. Bad software, and bad physical design. I sent the FI2 back, not Napster compatible. I have 3000+ Napster tunes. After using the Vision:M, I found it difficult to make any sense out the design direction. The new one is small and cute, but thats it. I just hope there is a better model before my M expires.

its great..needs better documentation

I like the way this little gem operates..easy to carry and use great sound quality well package. Only problem is the documentation that comes with it. I wish it was better and explained things better. Given these the price was right and who needs Ipod prices when you can have the this product at a substantial savings. I also like the memory card use. I would recomend this to a friend..in fact I have.

EXCELLENT mp3 player

Easy to hang on a belt loop.

Negative side: The pouch is really nothing but a fabric pouch. In the picture it looks more like a real metal mesh pouch, but it’s really not much protection.
I wouldn’t trust the belt loop hanger to hold the camera. I use it while I shoot with the camera.

Before I bought this item I wish I’d shopped around for a more sturdy case. The camera does fit perfectly. The zipper works well.

Attractive case but needs to provide better protection

This mesh pouch fits my 3rd Generation Creative Labs Vado perfectly. It is attractive looking and I like that it’s nice and compact and not big and bulky. That makes it easy to carry around on a keychain or even in your pocket. The only thing I would change about it would be to add a little more cushion for added protection. If you were to drop it, I don’t think this pouch would give much protection.

This small pouch keeps your camera protected some, but doesn’t have much padding. Of course, additional padding would increase the bulkiness, so it’s a trade-off. Another trade-off is no storage for cables, but cables aren’t needed except to transfer video/charge the camera. A nice little device, works quite well and intuitively. Pretty slick little hat trick that the software runs from the device, allowing you to plug into any computer and upload. Picture quality is good, not great, but good. It is extremely light and compact, so I tend to carry it with me.

I bought mine as a dented box special for $29, which is almost sinfully cheap. I’d like it if I paid more, but, at this price, I think it’s love!

Quite a handy camcorder and a cheap video solution. Recording is grainy in not so perfect lighting conditions. Recording is best at close range and thus the 4 star rating. Plus feature: Easy to upload to PC or Utube without any hassle.

Excellant camcorder

This camcorder was recommended to me by a friend. I paid $100.00 dollars for mine a year ago. The price they have now is a steal. Totally great gift to give to anyone at this price. It is one of the best buy I have ever made. I take it with me everywhere. It has saved my life more then once. I have had to buy three more for my grandchildren, because they were always taking it out of my purse to use it. Or deleting my films to make room for their films. Now I have recommended to friends and they are ordering them. I always surprised by the quality, it is more then great. Up loads and down loads are very easy.

I have had this product now for about 1 year. I am an animator and always use it for shooting video reference of myself. It is extremely simple to use. Point…Shoot…then plug it into the computer. I haven’t had any problems whatsoever. I have taken it hiking with me and it was really great to carry being that its really light and is unnoticeable even in my front pocket. If any one wants zoom features and more bells and whistles this isn’t the gadget for you. It does have a zoom but its not too useful. I wouldn’t expect to use it for anything but point and shoot. I personally would recommend this camcorder to anyone being that my experience has been a positive one. I think it is a great device that you could take anywhere. I bought a simple bendable mini tripod for it and it does great. It just screws right into the bottom. I have really enjoy this device because it is so simple. I must say that when I purchased it, I got it on sale. I got it for almost half the price its marked at now. Be sure to look around. For the price I got this device it was a steal. Definitely worth my money. Hope that helps!!!!!

DOA

This device arrived DOA. After turning it on, the LCD was a blank white screen. I tried reseating the battery, pressing the various buttons, but it stayed a blank white screen.

A quick google on “Vado white screen” returned numerous postings describing “the infamous white screen of death”. I am now processing an RMA through creative. Unfortunately they do not pay for return shipping.

Cheap, decent camera

Got it cheap so I can’t complain. Quality is decent and it works as long as the lighting is good. A poorly lighted room will make the camera virtually worthless, so if you’re in a darker room or one that has a lot of sun coming in (back lit) then you’re gonna be disappointed.

I bought this Cam at BestBuy for $10 and free shipping. I Bought 2 and I’m very pleased. It’s effective and looks nice. The video and pictures are crystal clear, and you really don’t need much light. it’s has over 1 mega pixels, so it’s like a digital camera. This is nothing like the standard typical cam for even half the price of retail ($50-$60) The USB cord is extra long so i can move this cam around. The cam is also moveable…up, down, side to side. Lots of extra bonus software to enjoy. Easy to install. Rests ontop of monitor and doesn’t fall off or over.

Quite good

I have been using this for more than a month now, with a laptop which I effectively use as a desktop. Picture quality is quite good and good functionality of zoom as well.
Only problem is, I cannot attach it to the top of the laptop monitor; which I wouldn’t want to as of now. I have to keep on a desk or a flat surface to use it.
Another negative aspect – you need to take care not to topple it while using. Moving the wire can topple it easily – I guess this is a part of every cam.
To summarize, a very good product for desktop users and also for laptop users who don’t move the laptop much.

Terrible

I was excited and even bought two (one for me and one for my sister out of state). Then, I had weird pop ups and after looking around on the Internet, it looks like there might be a virus with the software. Unfortunately, I still don’t have the issue resolved and the webcam is in the “techie dead pile.” Additionally, my sister has been having “registry” problems, which I think is due to the camera. DONT BUY.

Great accessory for the beach!

This product worked great!! I was a little concerned after I read a poor review for it that said theirs had leaked, but we had NO problems with it at all. The pouch was purchased for a Vado video camera but we also found that it worked great with our digital camera. We have excellent still photos as well as video of us enjoying the ocean and boogie boarding through some very rough waves, I would recommend the pouch highly!

More versatile than just for the Vado HD

The case is pretty durable and has an EXCELLENT seal. It was larger than expected but in the end that is a plus. Not only does it fit my TMobile G1, but I can actually use the touch screen on the phone, inside the pouch!
Very well made product and the lanyard is nice to let the camera hang at the ready safer than just using the little hole on the camera itself.
Highly recommend the product for it’s use with the Vado as well as it’s versatility for other items.

It works…

I bought the Vado HD camera for my 7 year old that loves to video and take stills of everything under the sun. Now she can do both but underwater with this pouch. We use it with other cameras too. We love the underwater video that she takes. We also bring it along snowboarding and other snow sports and she wears it attached to her jacket. For the price, just the fact that it works makes me like it.

Waterproof Pouch

I found this on Amazon while we were in Hawaii and my friend was taking photos with his Olympus SW camera underwater. I ordered it and it arrived when we got home. I’ve been using my Vado and really enjoy it but so wanted to take snorkeling with me… This seems to be the solution and I will be taking it to Hawaii when we return next year. I’ve also put my digital camera in it and tested it and it seems to work just fine so I can use it for both video and still photography.

Far better than expected!

I bought this because I will use my Vado outdoors and it of course is not waterproof. As soon as I got it, I did a test to see what I would lose by using the pouch………and the answer is…….I can see NO difference. Now the clarity of the plastic is good, so I thought that operating the camera inside the pouch would not degrade the quality that much………honestly, I can’t tell the difference. The amazing thing to me is the audio……….with the camera locked inside this waterproof pouch, the audio of me talking is still very clear. There might be some loss of faint sounds in the background, but that might be all. This is an expensive pouch, but it clearly exceeds my expectations.

Don’t waste your money

This camera has no viewfinder, so you have no idea what you are shooting. The directions for the camera are in microscopic print and poorly translated into English. The driver is in an oriental language with no translation at all, so it was impossible to get it to work. I sent it right back.

Nikon CLS guide

The Guide provides a good general overview of various techniques for mutli-flash photography and serves as an introduction to Nikon CLS. It provides one with good ideas on how to position various flashes in different settings to create special ligthing conditions. However, it does not present any meaningful instructions on how to use the CLS. It is what is says a “guide” but not a resource to learn how to optimize exposure, shutter speed, or how various Nikon flashes can be set-up in conjunction with the camera to work with CLS. In some ways, it is a marketing video for Nikon’s current products.

Lot’s of useful stuff but it is terribly commercial

I watched this thing twice to make sure I had absorbed the material presented. I feel comfortable writing this review.

Before I bought this, I read several reviews that pointed out the “commercial” like format this thing employs. Boy does it every! There are myriad little product plugs scattered through-out the DVD.

This is not to say it is without merit as a learning tool for the Speedlight series of flashes. There is a lot of good stuff on them as well as just good solid photography techniques when flashes are used.

It is worth the money, but Nikon really should consider removing most of the sales pitches when they make future training DVD’s.

Creative Labs Vado litium-ion battery

The Li-ion battery is a good purchase.
However special attention should be paid when buying more than one.
What I mean by this statement is: IF you intend on having more than one battery to swap out and use continuously (or having it as a spare when the one in the camera runs low ) that’s fine. BUT.. If you are buying it to have when the old battery dies on you, you need to know about Lithium-ion batteries.
The battery has about a 2 to 3 year life span. What I mean is, as soon as the battery comes off the production line it’s life span starts. Most of these batteries do not have a manufacturers date on them (or date they were made).
Thus you could buy a battery that’s been sitting on a shelf somewhere for who knows how long. Remember only get an extra battery IF you intend on using it right away.
Don’t depend on it working correctly after 2 to 3 years.
Another good idea is not to let the battery go completely dead while using, it is best to keep about a 40% charge on it for full life. Running the battery continuously dead and recharging shortens the battery life.
This goes for ANY Lithium-Ion based battery. Remember they are not like normal batteries you can just leave laying around for years and they will work.

Spec clearly says “VF0570 Vado camcorder”, not for the new Vado HD models. It works great as described.

Accrding to Creative website, This Battery will only work with regular Pocket video Cam, NOT the HD model.

As the other person wrote in his review, this is not the correct battery for the Vado being sold. Tio return would cost as much to buy it. Stay away. what a rip off!

Didn’t work, wrong size

This Product “Crative Labs VF0570AB was the wrong size battery for the Vado Pocket Video Camcorder, even though your ad said this was the correct battery. Therefore, I can’t use it and at the cost, is was not worth trying to return, and there were not stores near by that handled this product or the camera.
