Help in choosing a hard disk camera. This is what I am looking for:?
I'm looking for something for less than 500.00 recorded in a format recognized by any of the video editing software bigger. I've been reading much about video cameras that record in. Mod (mpeg 2 I) format, and though I know how to convert them, I always lose quality, or audio from this issue. Simply I do not want to spend all day fiddling. I would also have reached the camcorder semi decent reviews, and be a little elegant. Let me know and thanks for your help!
That's the problem with the cameras hard drive is highly compressed video images to get a relatively small hard disk. An AVI file is complete about 1 GB per 5 min video, do the math. = Reduced quality of compression, no matter how its wrapped is a fact. The only way is to reduce the amount of compression used. The formats for all video editing packages are basically using MPG and AVI with a few extras. For best results provided if slightly compressed AVI use, works 100%. MP4 files are a problem, there are those who edit, but they are compressed, there are some great software packages good about that edit these files, but the results will never be as good as AVI. To use quality Mini-DV tapes is always the best, the cameras are increasingly cheaper and there is a number that offer high definition. all you have to do is connect it via FireWire capture, edit and burn is very simple. And the quality will be as good as you get it. Professionals are using tapes, I think that says something. All the Best RR
