The FCB-H11 uses a 6V-12V power supply which means you can operate the camera from a battery or power source. Recommended power supply for this particular camera is the PDP12.
In terms of housing, I discovered that only one company offering a complete solution for customizable FCB-H11 and is Aegis Electronic Group.

For HD video editing an external hard drive – Does the unit should be 7200 or 5400 ok?

Will it work? Probably - If video clips high definition are not large, and it is sweeping the entire video project. Is it advisable? No. It would suggect that 7200 rpm is minimal - and optimally faster RPM (10,000) is better. However, other considerations such as CPU, RAM and free space on startup disk into account. No one would expect a response time of a very slow (laptop computer) hard disk spins at 5400 rpm. I guess the computer has a FireWire port for connecting to DV tape MiniDV HDR-FX1000 base - which is the only way I get the DV / HDV camcorder that out. Things not working USB - USB-FireWire / Hub / converter cable does not work, either. And it would probably be better if the external drive connected using FireWire as well. USB2 is fast bursts - Video (high-definition video especially) prefer flow very fast, not explosive.
