Why is the image of my video camera Panasonic HDD camcorders worse than VHS?

I only Panasonic SDR-H60, I read reviews about the camera and all revisions gave solid reviews. Not great, but right on par with what you expect from a camera in the price ... range of $ 500. But when I recorded and played back on my TV, the picture is very blurry and pixelated ... worse than the wet look / Crunchy VHS camcorders of yesteryear. And I put the recording in the best configuration ... XP. Why is the resolution so poor? I know there is a HD camera, but the picture must be clear and not pixelated? Is there anything I can do? If not, what camera within the range of $ 500 you recommend clean, crisp images that do well? Thanks!

the problem may be on your television set. many sets do not decode properly Luma / Chroma interlayer in the composite signal. from VHS luma reduced below the interlayer area, may actually appear better than a high resolution image that is full of decoding of artifacts. if you can connect the camera to your TV with s-video and this can eliminate the problems of decoding. SVHS Hi8 and both had this "problem" and used the s-video to work around televisions incorrect decoding circuits. the camera uses a VGA resolution, 640 pixels per line. miniDV uses 720 pixels per line, not for better resolution, but pixel count contributes to the best conversion to analogues. all recorders digital transmission using the 720 pixels or "D1" standard if they are to be converted back to analog. miniDV camera will also be responsible for movement more accurately than the MPEG2 compression used in hard disk recorders.
