If you intend to buy Kodak pocket Video Camera, this is my good experience with it!
I perused the Internet reviews of these camcorders and finally bought the Kodak Playsport from Amazon (you can check the picture and more details in the link). I chose the Kodak Playsport over the Flip since it was waterproof and had an SD card slot, and I want to tell you that I’m very glad I did! I have probably recorded and uploaded (to Youtube and Facebook) more video in the past month of owning the Playsport than I had in the past 2 years of owning my early camcorder. It’s just very easy to copy video files to the computer and import them into Windows Live Movie Maker. I’m sure it would be equally easy to use in iMovie too – but I have not tried it yet because my iMac is too old to handle these.
I have never had a small video camera like this before. People being recorded think I’m holding a cell phone and the finished results really surprise most of them when they see what was used during the recording. I use it mostly on the 720p at 60fps setting, and when I watch the video on a 73″ HDTV, it looks awesome. I tried the 1080p30 mode few times and noticed the video seemed slightly jittery during fast motion. You have to be careful to have a steady hand. I recommend using a tripod with that setting.
I did shooting a friend’s wedding in July with this little camera and I’m jealous that his wedding video looked better than my own (which was taken in 1992 by professionals).
Pros:
– simple and easy to use right out of the box
- small and light (about the size of a cell phone)
- several different video formats
- easy to upload videos directly to websites like Facebook and YouTube
- waterproof and able to be used under water
Con:
– the only con I can think of is that it the memory card that it comes with is not very large; I ended up purchasing a larger memory card from Amazon so that this could hold more videos and images.
I recommend you to buy this camcorder, if you like ease of use, durability and excellent video quality.
