Features: The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W290 is one of the most popular Sony digital compact cameras. It has a 12.1MP image sensor and a zoom 5x optical (2x digital). This model has a wide angle lens (5 mm – 25 mm) and can also record high-definition movies (up to 720p). It has a beautiful 3 "LCD screen that has 230'000 pixels. For connectivity, it has a USB port, video out and component video / audio output. It comes with 11 MB of built in memory and additional storage, you can insert a memory card.
Design: The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W290 comes in black, silver, bronze and blue. It measures 3.9 x 0.9 x 2.2 inches and weighs just 5.1 ounces. Sony products have always been very smart and this model proves to be an exception. It has a metal semi-glossy/matte-como smooth surface with rounded edges. The controls in this model is very simple with only a couple of buttons on the right side of the LCD (as opposed to other models with loads of buttons crammed in a small area).
Features and performance: Considering the price range, the quality of the Pictures taken at the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W290 are quite good. However, in comparison with images taken in the Canon compact cameras, there is something missing in the quality of the images taken in this model of Sony. In terms of performance, is one of the best in its class, fast shot-to-shot and start time. The quality of the videos taken were very good, but unfortunately you can not use the zoom while recording videos. It has the characteristics standard found in digital compact cameras from Sony, like Smile Shutter technology, intelligent auto mode, 13 shooting modes to choose from and many other features. For a camera of this price, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W290 comes with a wide range of settings and features. I give this camera four out of five stars qualification.
