Problem disconnecting the Canon HG10 camcorder from my computer?
I am able to connect the camera very well and transfer video files. When the camera is connected to the camera's LCD screen says that "while the camcorder is connected to a PC do not disconnect the USB cable or power source. OTHERWISE NOT turn off power or change. "I am unable to bring up any menu camcorder for this. If I try to turn off the power through the switch is unresponsive. The manual is very brief about connecting to a computer and has no information about this. I have not found a way to disconnect via software included either. The only way I could disconnect is simply disconnect the USB, the camera goes blank for a few seconds and then goes up in the "game" mode, but I fear the long term it will cause the camera is a new problems.The brand Canon HG10 and I'm on Windows Vista 32 bit.
Most USB devices can be removed and unplugged at will. When unplugging storage devices, as USB flash drives, you must be sure that the computer has finished saving any information to the device before removing it. If the device has a span of activity, wait a few seconds after the light has finished flashing before unplugging. If you see the icon safely remove hardware in the notification area at the far right of the taskbar, you can use this to ensure that the products have completed all current operations and are prepared to remove. Click on the icon and see a list devices. Click the device you want to delete.
