Canon CG-800 Battery Charger is Great.

I finally purchased the Canon CG-800 Battery Charger, wished that I had bought it a long time ago. It charges the batteries better than if they are charged on the video camera.
Worth the money for the convenience and less wear and tear on your camcorder.

Great Small Charger!

I bought this and paired it with the Canon BP-827 (read my review).

Very similar to the Canon S90 charger or Sony Cybershot chargers, but with different connection points. The two prong plug folds into itself in order to compact the size, so nothing is sticking out.

It plugs in flat to the outlet, with the battery slightly sticking out.

An LED turns from orange to green to let you know the battery is charged.

Small, light weight, great travel size and won’t take up much room in your camera bag.

The only thing is, you could easily lose this or forget to bring it with you all together. Work on forming new habits!

I plan to use this as my main charger and probably won’t even use the charger that plugs into the camera because it’s just a wad of wires and is just a pain.

Alternately, it’s just a piece of plastic that should cost a lot less. I just wish the universal charger I already have for my Canon S90 photo camera would accept the Vixia line of batteries.

But, the reason I like my other charger, is the same reason I like this one. Very happy with this purchase even with the outrageous cost. If you can find a generic one or universal one for cheaper (that doesn’t compromise killing your battery) or even a used one for cheaper, go for it.

You can recharge your Flip Ultra HD on your computer, but I find it so much easier for me to be able to recharge at an outlet. The plug prongs fold into the small black box that takes hardly any room to carry with you on a trip. I might not always carry my computer, so I needed an adapter. I am very happy with the size because both the camera and the adapter fit easily into my purse and they are light enough that you don’t really feel the extra weight.

Overheats

This unit obviously has some sort of major flaw. It pushes out way too much power, too quickly and will overheat the unit within 5 minutes.
Like others have said, avoid this, buy a second battery and keep both charged via USB. This was a mistake to have ever purchased.

Does not fit the battery for a Sony HDR-CX100 Camcorder right. It will still charge it but does not fit perfectly. Great price though and it is better then having to charge with the camera.

Very Good Inexpensive Charger

This is an inexpensive alternate to the Sony brand charger. It seems to be a decent quality, despite being made in China. The plug folds to make it very compact and easy to store in a camcorder bag. It also includes a cord to plug it into a car, which could come in handy. I didn’t have any issue with the battery falling out of the charger that another reviewer complained about. It clips in snugly and stays in place when I plug the charger into the wall. I highly recommend this if your looking for a charger for you Sony NPHF50, 70 or 100 series batteries.

We have a Sony Digital Camera that we got 6 months ago. The original charger cable can be plugged into the camera the right way or the wrong way. The wrong way will actual BREAK your connectors. This is a very bad design by Sony.

Option, if you did not get extended warranty, which I did not, then throw away the $280 video cam and get a new one! Great idea! Specially these days will all the discretional spending money!

Solution. Get an external charger for the battery. Most other chargers were between $30 and $50. I got this one for about $5, you can beat that. The only down size, the original cable took about 15 to 20 minutes to fully charge a battery. This one take about 1.5 hours. I can live with that.

Get deal from Amazon when I bought my 3rd Gen. VADO. I received the charger and the tripod. Great to see special deals through Amazon. Retail stores rarely offer such a great deal. The charger is simple, has many adapters for when you travel to other parts of the world. The box is big but it is needed to keep the charger secure.

I had brought this Home Travel Battery Charger for the EN-EL5 Rechargeable Battery. This charger is extremely good. I brought some EN-EL5 batteries that were made by a third party also. This charger really charges the batteries rapidly. I put the charger to the test with the original battery EN-EL5 from Nikon and sure enough, they got charged within 1 hour. I would grade this charger AA++. This charger can be additional external charger to the current internal USB charger that was provided by Nikon along with the camera.

Burnt out Quick

I hope it is only an anomaly – the Battery Charger died after being used for a few days. Product design can be improved – the clip on the top of the battery chamber makes removing the battery difficult. The price is right but I hope the product is more durable.

Very good battery

This lithium-ion battery pack is rated for 1050mAH at 3.7V. Made in China.

Be mindful that the 2 hours is just for the most ideal situation. That is if you will shoot continuously without pausing or turning off the camera. In real life situation, you will be pausing after every clip and still your LCD will be on for a minute. I only get an hour and a few minutes more in normal use. Still, this battery is decent and not one of those cheapos that advertise with a gazillion mAhs but never deliver.

In my opinion the battery is big but it doesnt add to much weight to the camara. My camara says i have about 243 minutes of recording time, for me i never have to worry about running out of battery especially if you charge it every night.i have the sony HDR-HC5 h.d. camara. its a must!!

This is not genuine sony battery. It’s a cheap chinese knock-off. If battery doesn’t have 1-800… number in the circle in the back it’s not sony battery. Please BEWARE!. I bought and after about 3-4 months my camcorder stopped recognizing the battery.

I bought this battery for my new sony camcorder hdr-XR500 and it works great and shows exactly the time that I can record just like it said on the product packaging itself. So far, I haven’t had time to use it but looks like the only downside to this is that battery is very BIG. But since it’s the best longest battery out there in the market for my sony camcorder, I’d say stick with this

Very large capacity battery. Battery meter on the Handycam said it should last for 400 minutes when I first put it on. I have no reason to believe that it wouldn’t.
