Sony camcorder battery error?
I have had a camcorder sony sr 55, and all of a sudden it displays an error c:04:00 cannot use this battery in the camcorder. It is a sony lithium ion battery, and when taking it in to the sony store they tried another battery and same error.
They sent it away which cost me £40, and they said it would cost £230 to repair i.e. the price of a new one. Anyone have any ideas how to fix it? Or what the problem is?
To answer rugratz, yes have tried that, works for about 3 seconds before battery error comes up and then it powers down

I assume you have tried all the normal things like leaving the battery off, and removing the small battery for the date and time (if there is one) and pressing reset, restoring factory defaults, there have been occasions when a sharp tap helps,
had a look around and there seems to be very little info abut the error, apart from servicing/repair
