JVC Mod to Windows Movie Maker, Import/edit JVC Everio GZ Mod files to WMM
Quote: I have purchased JVC Everio GZ-MG630 camcorder and it produces .mod videos. I can’t play the video on Windows Media Player or WMM for editing. Is there any way to convert JVC mod file to the format accepted by Window Movie Maker?
What’s Mod file? Mod is the tapeless video format captured with some models of JVC, Panasonic and Canon digital camcorders, with video encoding of MPEG2-PS and audio track encoding of Dolby Digital AC-3 encoding for the audio track. It can be viewed on your PC with a player reproducing MPEG-2 video. Unfortunately, Windows Movie Maker has no such a function, so .mod file can not directly play in WMM.
Solution: What you need is JVC Mod to WMM Converter that allows you to convert Mod files recorded by JVC Everio Camcorders to Windows Movie Maker acceptable formats like WMV, MPG, etc. Then import the converted files to WMM and editing them. Part 1: Convert JVC Mod files to WMV for WMM
1. After download and install JVC Mod to Windows Movie Maker Converter on your PC, click “Add” to load .mod files to the program. You can import several files into the program once.
2. Edit Mod video (Optional settings)
Click “Edit” button, go to the editing settings under these three options: “Crop”, “Effect” and “Trim”.
3. Set output format under the menu of “Profile”, for example, select “WMV videos(*.wmv)” as the output format.
4. Hit “Start” to begin the conversion from Mod to WMV for WMM.
Tip: You can easily access to the generated file by clicking the “Open” button next to “Start”.
Part 2: Import the .wmv videos to Windows Movie Maker for editing
Just drag and drop the generated .wmv file to WMM Interface and enjoy your editing in Windows Movie Maker.
