So they've gone to buy the Xbox 360!? It was a fantastic decision and you can enjoy hours of play time with your new device, but before you start in the wide world of online games you are going to need to know how to connect the 360 to the Live network.
Before you do anything you will need to decide how will you connect the bad guy. The 360 is compatible with wired and wireless connections. To use a wireless connection, you need the wireless adapter Xbox 360. Personally I find wireless to be a bit too temperamental for my liking, so they go with a wired connection through a router, but not everyone has the same wireless experience.
To configure the connection through a router unplug the router and modem and turn off the 360. Connect a Ethernet cable to one of the output ports of existing router and then connect the cable to the back of his 360. Plug in and turn around and give the modem and router 3 minutes to restart the system.
Once you have given everything a few minutes to start the system can trigger the 360 again. Once you create a player profile screen you will see Xbox Live. If you have not set up an account you will be asked to do so. All you need do is follow the onscreen instructions. It's a very cut and dry and the process should not take more 10 minutes of your time.
If you want to go wireless or LAN must go that will have to get the Xbox360 Wireless Network Adapter. Adapters are available in most stores that sell 360 games or you can order online. Once you disconnect the adapter from any Ethernet cable may is connected to the 360 then connects the network adapter to the back of 360. It's really easy to see where it belongs, but just in case, the adapter will sit right next to USB port located just above the Ethernet port. Once you have cut to connect the USB cable that is inserted into the adapter into the port of the Xbox 360. Raise the antenna that is flat against the adapter and you're, well almost set.
Turn on 360 and head in the system tray. 'll See options network, go ahead on that screen and go through the "subcategory Edit settings. The network name should appear on a list of available networks. Select your network and enter the password, if a password. Exit out and you should be ready to play.
It is a very simple process, and Microsoft has gone ahead and is super easy to configure the network in no time at all. From first to last the entire setup only takes about 15 minutes tops!
MY XBOX IS TO COOL… Is there any way to mod my tempsmart so it turns on, on the flip of a switch.?
i am probably the first ever to say this but MY XBOX IS TO COOL lol ok so i modded my xbox case so i have three fans mounted to the side(pretty cool didnt void warrenty either, think bout makin a youtube video because it might cost $10 depending on the supplies you have) anyways so the tempsmart only turns on when the inside temperature is above room temperature… but it never turns on any more so is there a way i can bypass the the thermastat so i can turn it on on the flick of a switch.. i have to toggle switch and wires and everything. the reason i want to have that plus my other fans running is because the xbox fans in the system dont do anything so i think the temperature will still rise… so i want my intercooler to suck all the hot air out..(i have it set up so it circulates it cold air in the side hot air out the back)
hello zeke. ive seen your video. you are indeed a very smart and talented young man, and i tip my whiskey glass to you for your ingenuity. the only problem i can see is the airflow. and the use of your intercooler. those things have been known to be hazardous by themselves. the heat sinks have fins and air is supposed to move thru them and all that….you kinna have it set up so the air comes in the side then right angles to go out the back. you might have one fan moving enough air across the sink so it moves some thru the fins but mostly your just blasting air on one side of the sink, most of which is going right out the back or the opposite sides. you need to set your fans up in a manner that allows you to achieve laminar flow thru your fins. thats when all the air goes in one direction. front to back in this case. try this:
take oONE of those fans and put it so it blows air right thru that processor that ISNT covered by the dvd drive. take off the inter cooler. run a 12v source to your stock fans or the whisper w/e you have back there. i hope you still have that little plastic “wind tunnel” cause you can take 3×5 note cards or a cheez-it box and just make a little “wall” if you will that separates the two stock fans in the back. what you basically have now is each proc has atleast one dedicated fan pulling air from nowhere else but infront of those fins and spitting it as fast as it can out the back end. i bet you youll see equal or better results than with your current setup. all those fans require volts. volts = heat. the connection points, wires, fan motors themselves, might get hot and generate heat on the other side of the box. just a suggestion if you get bored one afternoon. if nothin else get rid of the intercooler and run a 12v line to your stock fans. could also cut the plastic and metal mesh infront of the fans. it moves ALOT more air when you do that. just mind your fingers.
