Where can I find or request a replacement battery pack for a camera of Sharp? The model no. is VL-MX7H-GY. It is a 6V. I live in PA and I have to before Saturday! Any ideas?

Most of the Christmas lights have to be plugged into the wall to get power. But if you could run on batteries that can be placed anywhere an outlet is not available - as in a bicycle.
The type of electricity it gets from the wall is called AC, and the kind you get from batteries called DC. You have three options for the operation of the Christmas lights outside DC (battery):
* Buy an already wired for DC.
* Use a device called an inverter that converts DC to AC.
* Reconfigure Christmas lights to run DC.
Whatever option you choose, it is important that you use LED Christmas lights because they use 90-98% less electricity than the standard lights, so the batteries last longer. Much longer, like 16 more times. Instead of 15 minutes with incandescent bulbs, you can get four hours with LED's. I ran a test with a large battery and has only two hours on a bulb of 20-chapter of the old school of lights, and a whopping 31 hours with a 20-bulb LED chapter. Dude / Dudette, the use of LED's.
When I first wrote this page Some years ago, LED lights of Christmas are limited, and certainly there was no cable to run on batteries, so I was sharing two big secrets: one, you want LED's for long battery life, and two, how to ReWire batteries. But now you can buy off the shelf solution without having to rewire anything, as shown in the yellow box on the left hand lights, battery and charger. The only extra is added some connectors on the ends of cables to allow me to easily "plug" battery for the lights or the shipper. This is a 2200mAh battery and gives me 31 hours of runtime (!) With this combination.
So three out of the products available are the easiest solution. There are others, however. Here are all options:
- Buy an already wired for DC. This is by far the easiest option. You can get from Inirgee (which will give Lifetime guarantee) or Backwoods Solar, which has a bulb that uses 18-chapter 1 / 2 watt, and a chapter of 36-watt bulb that uses a. If you know of another online source for DC LED Christmas lights I will be happy to include it here as well. I did once see a small incandescent (NON-LED), set in an improvement store Lowe's home for $ 1.97, but I estimate two C batteries needed only last about 75 minutes because the lights are standard (incandescent). You really have to go with LED's if you want a significant amount of battery life.
- Buy a cable connection for AC and the use of an inverter to power batteries. An inverter changes DC current into AC. Connect a 12V battery to the inverter, and then just plug Christmas lights into standard power outlet on the inverter. It's like a mini power plant.
When I started writing this page and off-the-shelf, pre-12V LED lights Wired Christmas does not exist. Now that no longer exist, there is little reason to go with an inverter. The main reason is if you already have an inverter or AC LED Christmas lights, so that only need the other piece to get up and running. - ReWire provides an AC battery. It is very easy to take a cable series for AC and battery-operated ReWire. I'll show you how to do that further down the page, with nice pretty pictures.
No matter what method you use, you'll want know what kind of batteries to use and how long they will last. So we cover now.
How long run you will get from batteries
Calculating electricity usage is easy. The formula is simple:
Volts x Amps = Watts
We usually go to short. (eg 2.5 V = 2.5 V, 25 W = 25 watts).
They have not even know what volts, amps and watts are, as long as you know the formula.
When used one watt of electricity for an hour, which is a watt-hour, or Wh. A power amplifier for an hour is an amp-hour, or Ah. Store batteries as a small amount of electricity that are generally classified in milliamp-hour instead of ampere-hour (mAh). 1800mAh is the same as 1.8Ah.
A typical 50-bulb filament (NON-LED) Christmas lights uses 25 watts. So each bulb uses about half a watt. (Remember, we will use later.) Now we must see how much electricity is stored in a battery.
A typical rechargeable AA battery (NiMH) places at 1.2V and is rated at 2200mAh. Remember that V x A = W, we see that a single battery has a capacity of 1.2V x 2.2Ah = 2.64Wh. However, the use of lights of 25 watts. So you require ten batteries to power the lights for just one hour. Ouch.
You have four options for more run time of batteries:
- Use LED Christmas lights in place, such as Inirgee. LEDs use electricity 80-90% less than regular lights. So the batteries will last about 16 times more.
- Use fewer bulbs. Who says you have to use 50 lights? Use only the 25 and then the batteries last twice as long. Use the lights still less and get more battery time.
- Using more batteries. The more batteries you use, you will have more total power.
- Use higher-capacity batteries. NiMH D-cells store up 11,000 mAh. You can also use a small lead acid battery or a rechargeable pack toy cars used for camcorders and remote control.
My solution is to use LED lights. Thus not have to limit the number of lights, use or deal with the buying and recharging of batteries gazillion. I have 31 hours of runtime with the installation program listed in the yellow box at the top of this page. LED's offer other advantages: it burn (not by a ten years, anyway), and are injured - that do not break easily, as weak regular Christmas lights. Most lights have been sold by Inirgee permanently mounted bulbs can not fall out of their sockets, and have a lifetime warranty.
Now that we know we must use, LED-witted, or a lot battery power, we will choose a power source for lights.
Selection of batteries
You can use standard household batteries (title = "AA / AAA BATTERIES"> AA / AAA, etc), or you can buy a battery pack as which appears at the top of this page. The advantage of a larger battery is that there is only one thing is free. A single 12V pack takes the place of the ten cells individual household. It is much easier to load the package of ten separate batteries.
On the other hand, if your lightset requires only 2 or 4 batteries, then it is more cheaper to use only batteries to buy a large package. Each rechargeable battery (AA, AAA, etc.) puts out 1.2V. If you need 6.0V, then is, five batteries (5 x 1.2 V = 6.0V). Non-rechargeable batteries put more voltage (1.5V), but do not recommend it because it is a waste of using disposable batteries. It is certainly possible to do so, but if you choose to then you're on your own. The numbers that follow assume that you are using rechargeable batteries. To wire up the batteries for lightset, only needs a battery holder from Radio Shack, which costs about $ 1 or something. If you need an odd number of batteries, such as 5, then obtain a 4-battery holder and a 1-battery holder and attach the wires together. Connect opposite colors together (red + black).
Rewiring Christmas lights with batteries
This is where you can play mad scientist. Many devices running only AC or DC, but the lights are not very demanding and drain well. The trick is just to rewire the chapter to get the correct wattage bulbs. Remember, you really, really should use lights LED or the batteries just will not last long. Even so, we will use standard (non-LED) bulbs in our example below, because they are the most common.
A providing an outlet About 120V, so if there are 50 lights on the beach, each bulb is 2.4V. The bulbs actually want to 2.5V, thus providing them only 2.4V makes only a little dimmer, but not much, reduce stress and make them last longer anyway. In our example below, we offer our chapter 9.6V battery, which powers four lamps (4 x 2.5V = 10V). Before you start screaming that four of bulbs is not enough, do not worry, in a minute I'll show you how to connect multiple sets of four together.
Most Christmas lights are 2.5V, but some are different and that could be more or less. Normally, voltage is printed on the box the lights or on a label on the beach. If they are LED lights, then every color has a different voltage, LED Whites are generally ~ 3.5V. If you can not find the voltage, check with the manufacturer. Also, do not assume that if a 50-chapter bulb is 2.5V bulb bulbs 100-chapter should be 1.25V bulbs, is more likely that the bulb of 100 Strand is only two 50-bulb filaments interconnected.

But what if you want power more than four measley lights? Easy, just to create multiple sets of four lights and hook them all. You can have as many sets of four as you like, though the more lights you have the battery faster be exhausted. Here's how to connect three groups of four bulbs together.

STEP 1: Do three sets of four bulbs each
I tied up the slack so the light would be more compact.
There is nothing special between each bulb, only a continuous thread.
STEP 2: Connect all the "heads" together.
That is, make sure the beginning of each set is connected by a cable. There was usually able to wrap the wire around the other cables, but I made the cable separately here so it is easier to see how the wiring works.
STEP 3: Connect all the "tails" together.
That is, make sure the end of each set is connected by a cable. Normally, the return wire is also wrapped around the other wires. I did it separately so it is easy to see how it's wired. Note the battery is actually eight batteries, although only four are visible (the other four are at the bottom, two batteries is deep).
This set was to last nearly two hours on a set of eight 1.2V AA NiMH batteries with 1800mAh capacity each (like the kind of Radio Shack sells). Remember that each bulb use means of watt-hours per hour. So use that 12 bulbs 6wH per hour. Our Store batteries (8 batteries 1.2V x = x 1800mAh) 17,280 MWh, 17 Wh. Therefore, our 17 Wh battery pack will power 6-watt chapter for nearly three hours.
So there you have three ways to reach to the Christmas lights with batteries!
