i like to make small short films and music videos with my friends and then edit them on your computer. The only problem is my video camera broke so now I have to get a new one. Does anyone have suggestions for a decent DVC is affordable? or know of a site which compares the different DVC?

Shotgun Microphone for Canon GL2 video camera?
I currently have a Canon GL2 video of my house and I shoot a wedding here and there. I'm looking at the Sennheiser shotgun microphone mke400 use, through the shoe. Does anyone know how it compares to what is already a GL2? I hear the MKE400 is ideal for small cameras and receives rave reviews but I was not really sure how much help a prosumer camera like the GL2 ...
Connecting the microphone with the hot shoe? I do not think so. Yes, it's better than the built-in. The GL2 has a 1 / 8 inch (3.5 mm) stereo audio jack. To connect to XLR Sennheiser base, the best method is to use a XLR adapter or BeachTek juicedLink. This also allows you to record audio mono Sennheiser records for the left and right by the stereo / mono switch XLR adapters -. we do not recommend the use of a 1 / 8 "(3.5mm)" tail "of micro XLR to the camera can not be over-stressed by the weight of cable and tail as the resulting connection breakthrough that takes the camera. wireless lav on one or two may be worth a look - Sennheiser, Shure and Sony (in favor, no consumers) to large units.
