What would be the best laptop for video editing?
I know this is a very general question, but in your opinion, what is the best laptop under $ 1300 is good for editing video (also would use it for school work, web browsing, movies and music)? But I could not get a better laptop with components thats not much better a Mac for cheaper?
Well, I heard many good things about Apple, and I am sure they are good for video editing but Macs are generally expensive. If you prefer to get a PC, I know the perfect for you. It is an HP Pavilion dv6000 (also called the "HP Pavilion Entertainment PC"). It cost me $ 1209 with all taxes, but included a free HP in-One Printer (scanner, etc.). There are many free programs included. This is not a call Cyberlink Power Producer, is by far the best I've used yet. I did a full DVD for my friend's birthday, with the contents of it. It has a full DVD menu, background and his habit of me, and I chose the scene that I want on each page, and style of buttons, etc. It even has background music on the menu. You can capture content directly from the program because there is a built in webcam and microphone. You can even capture the content of video cameras attached to the draft, which automatically detects subject. I Honestly Love this team, and look forward to producing even more videos. Even if you are doing something simple, you can. It can extract audio from video as well. Also you can save as many file types, depending what they are doing the video (DVD data disc, etc.) and the laptop has 250 GB hard drive, and 3GM RAM, never runs, runs smoothly. It also has fingerprint scanner, works amazingly well. My HP notebook is designed for my next 5 years of college, so hopefully it lasts:) And it has many free programs, I have not tried them all yet.

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Experience improved energy efficiency, expanded wireless connectivity, and amazing battery life with the 45nm Penryn series Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 processor, which has a 2.40 GHz processor speed, super-fast 800 MHz front-side bus (FSB), and a large 3 MB L2 cache. (An L2, or secondary, cache temporarily stores data; and a larger L2 cache can help speed up your system's performance. The FSB carries data between the CPU and RAM, and a faster front-side bus will deliver better overall performance.) The new hafnium-infused circuitry--which reduces electrical current leakage in transistors--conserves even more energy, giving you more time away from the wall outlet. With a substantial 3 MB of shared L2 cache, data and instructions can be kept close to the two processor cores, greatly increasing performance and allowing the entire system to work more efficiently. And, because the processor cores share the L2 cache, either can use the entire amount if the other happens to be idle. Hard Drive and Memory The 200 GB Serial-ATA (SATA) hard drive (5400 RPM) quickens the pace with a higher speed transfer of data--akin to FireWire and USB 2.0.
