What would be the best laptop for video editing?

I know this is a very general question, but in your opinion, what is the best laptop under $ 1300 is good for editing video (also would use it for school work, web browsing, movies and music)? But I could not get a better laptop with components thats not much better a Mac for cheaper?

Well, I heard many good things about Apple, and I am sure they are good for video editing but Macs are generally expensive. If you prefer to get a PC, I know the perfect for you. It is an HP Pavilion dv6000 (also called the "HP Pavilion Entertainment PC"). It cost me $ 1209 with all taxes, but included a free HP in-One Printer (scanner, etc.). Ok, there's one thing good:
For portability... When you go out, take it with u, instead of taking the mouse, but use it only for some minutes, carefull!!!

It's TOO cheap so u can try it if you want it and don't cry it if u destroy it!!! He he he!

I HATED IT. IT WAS BROKEN WHEN IT CAME OUT OF THE BOX. I WAS SUPPOSED TO GET A REFUND BUT I DON'T KNOW IF I DID. NOT WORTH THE MONEY EVEN IF IT'S FREE..

This is not a bad concept for a product, but the quality is a bit crappy. You have to hold the optical lens basically on the work surface before it will work. Not ideal. I give an A for effort, but the execution and actual design sucks. I would not recommend this product.

WORKS but NOT COMFORTABLE - Too much THUMB required

I got this because the trackpad I had was hurting my thumb - this is even worse. Can only be used in right hand, can only be used well by thumb. OUCH.
